About the Brand
Lacausa —Spanish for “the cause”— is a Californian brand that offers sustainable comfort and style to the modern woman. They are rethinking basic garments by mixing classical, romantic silhouettes with a modern bohemian style. To assure a sustainable production, all products are manufactured locally and they have partnered with factories that provide fair wages and healthy working conditions. Lacausa aims for zero waste production and it donates to a variety of humanitarian and environmental causes each month. Equality and transparency are the pillars of the brand.
Are they Local: yes, the Product is made in Los Angles, California
Are they Fair Trade or paid a living Wage: Yes, living wage. At LACAUSA, it is ensured that they only produce their product in factories that provide fair, livable wages, and healthy, humane working conditions for all team members. Each of our partners share their mission of equality, transparency and a more ethical future for fashion.
Organic Materials: LACAUSA primarily focuses on natural and organic fabrics. But not all the products are Organic.
Circularity: The brand has the mission of NO MORE VIRGIN PLASTICS: In 2020, they made a commitment to remove all virgin plastics from their packaging. They are unveiling their new garment bags and mailers, made entirely of recycled materials, reusable for returns and able to be recycled again when discarded. ?LACAUSA opted for a 100% recycled alternative. Their new recycled bags are easily reusable for returns and are able to be recycled again when they are finally discarded.
Cruelty Free: NA
Environmental Conscious Processing: Reduced amount of Water, Waste, Carbon and Pollution: At L A C A U S A , their small team prioritizes a low waste design process and are continuously work on new initiatives for their donation program, the brand focus on human and environmental rights. Which means they craft products that feels good in, both inside and out.
In safe and sustainable manufacturing the brand has already introduced a handful of products containing recycled polyester, LACAUSA primarily focuses on natural and organic fabrics as they have since day one. All polyester releases micro plastics into the environment, but by using recycled and/or dead stock poly, they are giving a new life to waste that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Using recycled poly also drastically reduces energy consumption in its production. None of these solutions are perfect yet, but we made the choices we felt were best based on energy and resource consumption
